About Different Bathroom Cabinet Styles
When it comes time to remodel your bathroom, or to simply replace the cabinet, there are some considerations you should make. Naturally the appearance is important, as is the functionality. Sprucing up your bathroom not only makes things more pleasant for you, but also increases the value of your home, so the selection of the right cabinet is important.
Small bathrooms are better suited to single cabinets. They come in a variety of sizes, so you can have a single cabinet and as much counter space with it as the room will allow. The smallest models are about 12 to 15 inches across and are just large enough to accommodate a decent-sized sink. This could be a pedestal sink with no cabinet, or a cabinet model with very small storage space. The larger models can span 75 inches and usually offer a centrally placed sink with counter space on either side, and cabinets or drawers beneath.
If you have the space, double vanities that accommodate two sinks are nice, particularly if more than one person needs to be in the bathroom at the same time. These start out wider, somewhere between 50 and 80 inches in width. Usually the sinks are separated by an open countertop space for personal items. Below is a combination of drawers and cabinets for storage.
Smaller bathrooms can feel roomier with the installation of a corner vanity. This makes the best use of tight floor space. They are usually only single-sinked, and they are often free-standing, like pedestal sinks.
